Pitta Balancing Tea
Ingredients:
* 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
* 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
* 1 teaspoon fresh cilantro (optional)
* 1 teaspoon green cardamon seeds
* 4-5 cups boiling water
Preparation:
1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
2. Add the boiling water.
3. Steep for 5 minutes.
4. Strain and let cool. This tea can be left at room temperature to drink throughout the day.
Green Cardamon- a safe digestive stimulant that awakens the spleen, enkindles Agni and stimulates mind and heart. Helps stop vomiting, belching or acid regurgitation.
Fennel- a good general herb for all constitutions. One of the best herbs for digestion, and strengthening Agni without aggravating Pitta. Stops cramping and dispels flatulence. Calms nerves and promotes mental alertness.
Coriander- aids digestion and is useful in treating colic. It is also helpful for upset stomach and flatulence relief.
Cilantro- acts mainly on the digestive system. Improves the appetite, relieves flatulence, upset stomach and indigestion, and kills bacteria .The volatile oil in Cilantro Leaf also appears to be an effective anti-inflammatory that safely eases the pain of arthritis, rheumatism and sore muscles.
