Lizz Cowley
Yoga Teacher
As a teen I came to meditation and mindfulness practices seeking relief from anxiety and severe depression. The practices changed me, and probably saved my life. In the early 2000s I found my way to the Omaha Yoga School to study Classical Yoga and Asana. Margaret Hahn and Meredith Busher were my first yoga teachers, and I remain forever grateful for their instruction - these lovely humans taught me to come home to myself.
I earned my teacher's certification in 2009 from the Shoshoni Yoga Retreat. Living at the ashram helped me appreciate yoga in a different way; one that is sourced in the heart-mind, transcendent of the body, and accessible through the rhythms and rituals of daily life.
I'm a lifelong student and enjoy offering what I've learned; teaching comes from my heart and I hope that what we find together during practice sweetens the world in which we live. My favorite styles of asana to teach include Hatha, Restorative, and Yin Yoga. I love forward folds, lavender infused chocolate, spending time with my wonderful daughter, and the scent and sounds of the mountains.
